Mega Millions Jackpot “The Third Largest Jackpot Prize in Mega Millions history”

The Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed $1 billion and now Texas Lottery players are playing for their next chance to become Texas’ next billionaire,” said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery. “Mega Millions sales in Texas continue to rise across all levels and we’re excited about what lies ahead as more Texans earn a shot at winning this record-setting jackpot and beyond. We look forward to seeing how they play!”

The Mega Millions lottery jackpot rose on Monday, August 9 and hit its highest level ever with an estimated value of nearly $1.03 billion. The prize was paid out after Texas Lotteries made a change to the game’s rules that will likely increase the number of bettors who win. On Tuesday, August 10, players were given another opportunity to win. This time they’ll only need to buy a ticket when they’ve already purchased $10 worth of tickets since July 8.

Grief added, “We’re proud of our continued partnership with the Texas Lottery to deliver record-breaking revenue numbers. As winners of previous Mega Millions drawings show us, it takes not just one lucky player but multiple winners to help make big wins happen.”

On Wednesday August 11, Mega Millions draw #2, Texas will award a hefty amount of money to four lucky Texans — one of whom could become even richer than the current winner thanks to today’s changes. Here are the full names and descriptions of the prizes:
