Norwich Miss Golden Opportunity to Move Into Top Six
City missed an excellent chance to move into the top six after being held to a 0-0 draw by Rotherham. A win would have lifted them above Blackburn into the top six and kept them away from relegation trouble.
Rotherham goalkeeper Joshua Vickers made two superb saves, stopping Sam McCallum’s early long range effort and Josh Sargent’s half-volley attempt.
Rotherham
Rotherham has been an important industrial town for centuries, relying on coal, iron and glass-blowing industries. Though much of this has now gone, Rotherham and Sheffield remain major steel producing centres while Rotherham also serves as a high-tech hub with new industries being developed nearby.
A long-term regeneration project is underway in Rotherham, which will see new housing, leisure complexes and a railway station built as part of the Rotherham Renaissance. The town centre already houses numerous stores such as Tesco, JD Sports, New Look and Primark; plus there are markets and cafes within walking distance.
Rotherham is the perfect day trip for all the family, whether you’re searching for something exciting during the day or somewhere to go out at night. It boasts a vibrant mix of traditional English charm and culture alongside modern urbanisation.
QPR
Norwich missed their chance to climb into the top six when they were held goalless at home by Rotherham. Meanwhile, Preston moved within one point of the play-off spots with Brad Potts scoring with seconds remaining in a 2-1 victory at Reading.
Reading’s losing streak to eight matches continued with a 1-0 defeat at home to Millwall, while Swansea’s 2-0 triumph against Coventry moved bottom club Wigan closer towards relegation.
Queens Park Rangers have been linked with Ajax coach Michael Reiziger, according to Football Insider. The 49-year-old worked alongside Erik ten Hag at Ajax between 2019 and 2022.
Sunderland
The Black Cats face an uphill battle to stay out of the relegation zone next month. Trailing seven points behind the top six, they must win their next six matches to move within striking distance of a play-off spot.
Tomorrow night they take on Hull City at the Stadium of Light and while they may be relegation candidates themselves, their home record this season has been dismal; with only one win on their own turf thus far.
Last week, the Black Cats enjoyed great success down their left-hand side in a 2-2 draw against Burnley. But on Monday night they could not stop Bournemouth playing through them and it was the hosts who capitalized on some sloppy passing to score the winning goal.

Coventry
Championship promotion hopefuls Coventry were denied a golden chance to move into the top six when Ben Sheaf netted an equaliser in the second half. Although that moved them within three points of play-off places, Brooke Norton-Cuffy was controversially denied a penalty after she was brought down inside the area by Hassane Kamara.
Watford took an early lead through Joao Pedro, but Imran Louza doubled their advantage with an exquisite run and finish that left Sky Blues facing a mountain to climb. Matt Godden pulled one goal back with an exquisite curling shot that snuck into the bottom corner to reduce the deficit before Biamou’s late goal secured a point for them.
Watford
On Sunday, Norwich missed an opportunity to go two points clear at the top of the table after drawing 1-1 with Rotherham. Neil Adams’ side remain top on goal difference ahead of Watford who have 21 points as well.
The home side, however, have now lost their last two league games and must beat Huddersfield next week to stay up. They possess a decent enough squad and could improve on last season’s 14th-place finish.
In the town centre, there are some captivating old buildings to discover. One such gem is Fenn’s Yard on High Street; this two-storied structure boasts timber plastered walls and an intriguing brick chimney.
